About Wichita Tractor Co.

In October 1971, Wichita Tractor Co. originally Wichita Ford Tractor started its operation on “Tractor Row” in west Wichita by its founders, Paddy and Sylvia McCullough. The original business began with the sales and service of Ford Tractors and Agricultural Equipment for both the light industrial and governmental markets in South Central Kansas. It was not long before the second generation, two sons Clayton and Don, became an integral part of the work force and are now managing the business. Currently, the third generation is an important part of the work force bringing the total cumulative active years of the McCullough family to well over one hundred years.

There have been numerous changes in the construction & hay equipment business since that October day in 1971. The equipment has become more sophisticated and complex. In years past a good employee needed little formal education to be effective in the industry. But today’s sales, parts, and service technicians are constantly updating their expertise, knowledge, and skills to perform efficiently with the current state of design of products that are prevalent in the industry. It is a constant challenge to keep all personnel ahead of the curve. This is good for the customer because today’s equipment allows us the opportunity to provide our customers with products and equipment repair that will get the job done on time, whether it be a cutting edge designed mower, a highly sophisticated piece of agricultural or construction equipment, or OEM parts for sale.
